Our Pricing and Fees
Our Fees
When you instruct us, we’ll provide a tailored quote based on your case. Below are typical estimates for unfair or wrongful dismissal claims. These figures are based on the hourly rates of the lawyers involved and exclude VAT, which is charged at 20%.
- Simple case: £12,000 – £15,000 plus VAT
- Medium complexity case: £15,000 – £25,000 plus VAT
- High complexity case: £25,000 – £35,000 plus VAT
Disbursements
In addition to our fees, you may need to pay disbursements, costs payable to third parties, such as barristers’ fees or travel expenses for hearings. These are subject to VAT at 20% where applicable.
We’ll manage these payments on your behalf for convenience, but we’ll always agree the cost with you in advance and provide a separate quote.
Barristers’ fees for an unfair or wrongful dismissal hearing typically range from:
- £2,000 – £4,000 for the first day
- £1,000 – £2,000 for each additional day
This includes preparation time and depends on the barrister’s seniority.
What’s Not Included in the Fee Bands
The above estimates cover the usual stages of an unfair or wrongful dismissal claim. They do not include:
- Other types of employment tribunal claims (e.g., discrimination, equal pay, unlawful deduction from wages)
- Group claims involving multiple claimants
- Appeals to the Employment Appeal Tribunal
- Related claims in other courts (e.g., breach of contract or personal injury)
We can assist with these matters and will provide a specific quote when we take your instructions.
Other Funding Options
Our fees may change if your case becomes more complex or requires additional work. We’ll discuss any changes with you before proceeding.
You may have alternative funding options, such as legal expenses insurance through your home or car policy. We’ll explore these with you at the outset.
Please note: We do not offer “no win, no fee” arrangements.
Factors That Can Increase Complexity
- Whistleblowing or other non-standard dismissal claims
- Complex factual issues or multiple respondents
- Defending claims brought by litigants in person
- Applications to amend claims or provide further details
- Large volumes of documents or numerous witnesses
- Discrimination allegations linked to dismissal
Timescales
The duration of your case depends on how and when it concludes:
- If settled early (e.g., through ACAS conciliation), it may take 1–3 months.
- If it proceeds to a final hearing, expect 6–12 months from start to finish.
We’ll keep you updated and provide more accurate timescales as your case progresses. Complex cases or hearings lasting more than two days may take longer due to tribunal availability.

Life Interest Trust clearly explained
The advice on Life Interest Trust was very clearly presented and explained
Flat sale
Had a faultless experience with Eric Robinson. Emma was great throughout the transaction and was excellent at explaining points of the sale and allaying fears of blips along the way. Megan was great with the communication and the finalising of the transaction. The process was quick and seamless. Will use again in the near future
Thank you, Chantelle!
Chantelle’s availability, responsiveness, tenacity, care and expertise made a potentially-stressful and challenging first-time-buy much more manageable. We felt that we were in safe hands throughout. Thank you, Chantelle!
Always reliable
Used twice now for conveyancing and both times Eric Robinson have been reliable, helpful and communicated well. Will continue to use in the future.

Chantelle ( Chandlers ford branch ) was brilliant throughout our conveyancing process for our new house. No question or email was too much, and she really took so much stress out of the experience – we can’t reccomend her enough !!
Eric Robinson Solicitors, WInchester
We recently had Miya Smith at Eric Robinson’s act for us with the sale of our late mother’s property and we cannot fault the service she and the team gave us. Diligent and professional throughout the process with everything excellently communicated to us. Would definitely use them again on this basis if and when needed.
