Jo joined the firm (previously Fitzhugh Gates) in June 2025 and works at the Shoreham-By-Sea office specialising in the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Probate matters.

- Admitted as a Chartered Legal Executive in July 2024 (FCILEX)
- Affiliate Member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP)
- STEP Advanced Certificate in Will (England & Wales) Preparation – June 2025
Experience and expertise
- Began working in private client law in 2017
- Drafting Wills of all types, from simple low value estates to more complex higher value estates
- Preparing and advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Advising and assisting in relation to all aspects of estate administration including death notification, dealing with HMRC and inheritance tax, obtaining grants of representation whether Probate (where there is a Will) or Letters of Administration (where there is no Will and the Intestacy Rules apply), gathering assets post grant and effecting distributions to beneficiaries.
- Advising on the taxation aspects of estate administration (Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and Income Tax)
- Preparing Deeds of Variation
- Special interest in rural and agricultural estates
