The Government’s Help to Buy scheme makes it possible to buy a new or existing home with just a 5% deposit.

Help to Buy ISA or Equity Loan Scheme?

Here is a little bit of information on each scheme:

  • Help to Buy ISA– A scheme designed by the government to help first time buyers with a 25% government bonus. The scheme operates as a savings account with the lump sum bonus being paid when you are ready to complete your house purchase.
  • Help to Buy equity loan scheme– Equity loans are designed for new build property in the UK. A maximum purchase price will apply to your equity loan and the maximum property value will depend on whether you live in London or elsewhere in the UK. Monthly loan fees are payable.
  • Buying through shared ownership- Designed for those looking to own a share of a home alongside a Housing Association.
