Conveyancing Legal Assistant (File Opening) – Southampton, Hedge End or Chandlers Ford

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our friendly Conveyancing team in one of the Eric Robinson Solicitors offices, near Southampton. The role involves providing support to all Conveyancing fee earners in a busy high street office, so good organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise work is essential.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also important as candidates will be required to communicate regularly and professionally with clients, fee earners and other Legal Assistants. Strong attention to detail is important as the role will involve 100% accuracy of ID checks following correct GDPR legislation and compliance. There will be regular use of our online case management systems.

The ideal candidate will have similar previous working experience and preferred experience within the legal sector.

Key Skills Required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Ability to prioritise work and confidence to work within a fast-paced environment

Excellent attention to detail

Enjoys working independently and as part of a team

Flexibility and adaptable attitude to work

IT literate in Excel and Outlook

Working knowledge of case management systems & online systems

Working Pattern

The role is permanent and full-time (37.5 hours / 5 days per week), although part-time hours would be considered. No weekend working.

Wills & Probate Lawyer (Private Client) – Southampton (Bitterne)

We are looking for at least + 2 years PQE Wills, Trust & Probate fee earner to join the team at our busy office in Bitterne, Southampton.

The candidate will need to be either a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.

The role will involve Probate, the preparation of Wills and Trusts and the provision of general tax advice, Trust and Estate Administration and the provision of general tax advice, the preparation of General and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Registration of Powers of Attorney and, ideally, Court of Protection work.

Good communication skills are essential, as fee earners are required to communicate regularly with clients when taking instructions and giving advice. They will have previous experience in the areas above and be able to manage and prioritise their own caseload.

The ideal candidate’s technical knowledge will be strong, and they will preferably have knowledge of case management systems and an ability to use (government) online systems.

The role is permanent & full time.

The role involves providing support to 1 or more Conveyancing fee earners in a busy high street office, so good organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise work is essential.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also important as candidates will be required to communicate regularly and professionally with clients and stakeholders. Proven experience in accuracy and attention to detail is important as the role will involve completion of legal documents and the use of our online case management systems.

The ideal candidate will have similar previous working experience and possess a good working knowledge of conveyancing legal work.
